PKS Still Comfortable Together With NasDem And Democrats, Close To Golkar Just Another Thing

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) M. Kholid, denied reports that his party would join Golkar in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB). The news strengthened after PKS officials were said to have often held meetings with Golkar Party officials. Kholid denied that the closeness of PKS and Golkar recently made the relationship between his party and NasDem and the Democratic Party as potential coalition friends. He ensured that communication between PKS and Golkar did not shake up the coalition plan with NasDem and Democrats. In fact, he said, the development for the planned coalition declaration in November was almost 100 percent. "So far, both PKS, NasDem and Democrats are both comfortable," Kholid told VOI, Friday, September 30.

"As NasDem said 80 percent of the progress," he added. He also straightened out the news in the media regarding PKS which was close to Golkar. According to him, recently it was Golkar who tried to open communication to PKS. "And that's normal. That's very normal in political communication," said Kholid. Kholid said, so far PKS has a very good relationship with Golkar. He said, informal friendship between PKS and Golkar leaders is normal.

"Because our relationship is very good. PKS will continue to maintain good political communication with friends at KIB, smoothly without any obstacles," he said. Currently, PKS is focusing on finalizing the coalition format with NasDem and Democrats. For PKS, he said, completing the agenda and format of the coalition between PKS-NasDem-PD is still a priority for his party.

"We will first prepare the coalition format. The problem of timing will be when all the coalition format has been completed," said Kholid. Kholid also admitted that there were no obstacles to equalizing the understanding to reach a meeting point for the coalition agreement with NasDem and the Democrats. It's just that, he said, PKS did not want to rush to announce the coalition or candidates to be promoted in the 2024 presidential election.

"There are no problems, we just need a process. There is also no other coalition, there is no vice presidential candidate pair, right? We don't want to rush it," he concluded.
