COVID-19 Update As of September 29: 2003 New Patients and 17 Deaths, Active Cases Becomes 18,357

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 66,041 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 2,003 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,429,767 people and active cases have dropped by 12 to 18,357 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Thursday, September 29.

Today's recovered cases increased by 2,814 people, bringing the total to 6,253,317 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 17 cases and totaled 158,093 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 781 cases and a total of 1,425,181 cases. Followed by West Java which has 347 new cases with a total of 1,179,708 cases. East Java has 248 new cases and a total of 605,140 cases. Banten has 187 new cases and a total of 337,102 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 967 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 776 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 437 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 191 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 108,656,989.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 6.71 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,528 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 204,556,520 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,161,526 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 63,466,363 and the fourth dose was 608,860. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
