JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri welcomed the election of Johanis Tanak as Deputy Chair of the KPK to replace Lili Pintauli Siregar who had resigned.
"I welcome the appointment of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK. On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the leadership of the DPR RI," said Firli Bahuri as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 28.
Firli congratulated Johanis Tanak for becoming a member of the KPK.
"To Johanis Tanak's brother, I congratulate him on his election to continue his service at the KPK as Deputy Chairman of the KPK," he said.
Firli Bahuri invites Johanis to participate in eradicating corruption.
"Welcome and welcome to join the ranks of the KPK. Let's clean this country from corrupt practices," he said.
Commission III of the DPR chose the retired prosecutor as Lili's replacement.
"Johanis Tanak was elected as a candidate to replace the leadership of the KPK for the 2019-2023 term. Can it be approved?" said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Adies Kadir as chairman of the meeting which was answered in agreement by members of Commission III.

After the presentation, Commission III of the DPR held a vote, Johanis Tanak received 38 votes and I Nyoman Wara received 14 votes, and one vote was declared invalid.
