Accident On The Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road, 10 People Killed

JAKARTA - As many as 10 people were declared dead after being involved in an accident on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) kilometer 78 toll road that entered the Purwakarta Regency area, West Java, on Monday, November 30, early morning.

West Java Police Traffic Director Kombes Eddy Djunaedi said the incident occurred Monday at 03.00 WIB. According to him, three vehicles were involved in the accident.

"There are 10 people who died. Two who were seriously injured died during medical treatment," said Eddy when contacted in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, November 30.

The three vehicles are a minibus with police number G-1261-D, and two trucks with police numbers R-1857-GC and B-9010-UEJ.

The accident started with a minibus traveling from Jakarta to Cirebon. Then at the scene of the incident, the minibus crashed into the truck in front of it on the same lane.

Not finished there, the truck that was hit by the minibus also hit a truck in front of it. At the time of the incident, according to Eddy, eight people died at the location.

Eddy said that so far his party had not been able to determine the cause of the accident which claimed the lives of 10 people. However, after the accident the police immediately started an investigation.

"We just finished processing the TKP using the TAA (Traffic Accident Analysis) method. So the cause of the accident is not clear why. We also don't know whether the elf car is a travel vehicle or not," he said.
