Police Will Call UMMI Hospital Management To Take Care Of Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - Head of West Java Regional Police Public Relations Kombes Erdi A Chaniago said the police would summon the Ummi Hospital, where FPI Grand Imam Rizieq Shihab was treated.

The summons, he said, followed a report from the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force which was allegedly blocked by the Ummi Hospital when it was about to carry out a COVID-19 check on Rizieq Shihab.

"It is possible next week, because it was only yesterday's report, while the investigator from the Bogor Police will call for clarification first," Erdi said in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 29.

According to Erdi, the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force is carrying out the function of detecting patients who are suspected of having close contact with COVID-19. In addition, according to him, the Task Force also tried to check the validity of the results of the swab carried out to Rizieq Shihab.

"He (the Task Force) will prove, who is the doctor who treated him, whether he is certified, then the results of the lab tests were sent to which lab, now this is being reviewed by the Bogor Health Office," he said.

Previously, the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported the President Director and Management of the Bogor City UMMI Hospital to the Bogor City Police on suspicion of obstructing and hindering the task of the COVID-19 Task Force in tackling the spread of infectious diseases.

The Head of Law Enforcement and Discipline of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force Agustiansyah said in Bogor City, Saturday, November 28, the report to the Bogor City Police was made after waiting for an appointment made by the UMMI Hospital Management but not being fulfilled.

In addition, Rizieq Shihab himself has now reportedly returned from the hospital since Saturday, November 28 evening. The leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) is now at his residence in Petamburan, Jakarta.
