Leading PPP Command, Mardiono: Suharso Monoarfa Will Support My Leadership

JAKARTA - Acting General Chairperson (Ketum) of PPP Muhamad Mardiono said that gathering with Suharso Monoarfa was still maintained even though the top leadership of PPP had changed.

"He (Suharso Monoarfa) mardya certainly will not forget PPP, no. We are still communicating how to advance PPP," Mardiono told reporters on Jalan Gajah Mada, West Jakarta, Sunday, September 25.

Mardiono said the PPP DPP structure only changed to leadership positions. So that the party wheels remain as usual, only that the command is now held directly by him.

Mardiono is optimistic that PPP under his leadership will be supported by former party leaders bearing the symbol of other Kaabas, including Suharso.

"Yes, it's only different if he was the one who directly led, now he's the one who dreams of me. Of course later, he will support my leadership," he said.

As is known, PPP internally heated up after Suharso Monoarfa was dismissed by three PPP Assembly leaders dated August 30, 2022. However, over time PPP resolved its internal problems in order to immediately look back at the 2024 General Election.

Mardiono also had confidence that PPP under his leadership won the maximum vote in the contestation of the five-year democratic party.

Mardiono admitted that PPP did not want to repeat the bad history of getting a small vote in the 2019 election. So, he emphasized that his party would try hard so that PPP would not sink among other new parties.

"PPP is not alone, other parties will also face a big agenda for the 2024 election stage, which is less than 500 days. This is a big job, a constitutional obligation for PPP to participate in holding elections," said Mardiono, Wednesday, September 7.
