Central Java - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo prioritized the draft amendment to the Central Java Provincial Budget for the 2022 budget year for social assistance due to the increase in fuel oil (BBM) including the potential for inflation collisions.

The PDI-P politician conveyed this after giving an explanation of the Raperda for the Revised Regional Budget for the 2022 fiscal year and his Financial Note at the Plenary Meeting at the Central Java DPRD Building, Semarang, Friday, September 23.

"This has also touched several sectors that are considered very affected by the increase in fuel and inflation, such as the agricultural sector and the transportation sector, as well as the poverty rate. From the executive and legislature there is still time until Tuesday it is decided," he said.

In the plenary session, Ganjar explained the three priorities for changing the APBD, the first is related to the impact of fuel price adjustments that must be handled wisely so that the transfer of fuel subsidies to various aids is more targeted and provides benefits to the underprivileged.

"Let's really calculate the impact of increasing fuel so that we can respond to community problems. The purchasing power is maintained, inflation is maintained. Sectors, sub-sectors, and the target groups must be clear. I really ask because this is also our national homework," he said, quoted by Antara.

Second, Ganjar reminded that because of the bad weather position and the volatile world conditions, agriculture in a broad sense must be considered and prepared seriously, especially some commodities that are included in volatile food have also greatly affected inflation in recent months.

"The agricultural business in a broad sense is well prepared so that assistance can be there because the professions there are also disrupted, both farmers and fishermen are also disturbed because of that, so we direct this assistance there," he added.

Ganjar also asked that assistance that is not very important for small infrastructure be accumulated and used as one to encourage sectors that need it more.

The final focus, he continued, is the proportionality between the assistance provided to regencies/cities in Central Java. According to him, the provision of additional assistance in 2022 will be distributed to 21 regencies/cities and taking regional needs into account, it is possible that the assistance can be allocated to 14 other districts/cities proportionally.

In this case, Purworejo and Pemalang Regencies received the highest assistance.

"The proportionality of assistance that we provide to existing regencies/cities, especially poor districts, is prioritized, let's be able to get a lot of things. Control the impact of fuel increases, control inflation, including reducing poverty," he said.
