Tak Kunjung Rampung, Anies Membuat Rencana Normalisasi Sungai Dikerjakan Gubernur DKI Berikut

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan plans to continue the recovery of critical watersheds (DAS) and coastal security to reduce the flood inundation area to 889.4 square meters in 2026.

This is stated in Governor Regulation Number 25 of 2022 concerning the DKI Jakarta Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2023-2026.

"With the focus on anticipating the water discharge that has not been accommodated through an increase in existing capacity and the design of the drainage system, the construction of a security embankment, and efforts to retention the water," Anies said in a governor's regulation quoted on Friday, September 23.

One of the efforts made, according to Anies' plan, is the continuation of the development program and capacity building of the naturalization river or normalization that will be carried out by the next DKI Jakarta Governor.

"Procurement of land for naturalization/ river normalization in Ciliwung River, Cipinang Melayu Sunter River, Angke River, Jatikramat River, Pesanggrahan River, Krukut River, and others that are adjusted to agreements with the central government," said Anies.

In addition, several programs that will be carried out by Anies' successors are the operation of 4 rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and reservoirs (SDEW); the operation of 9 polders; construction and capacity building and capacity building of drainage channels and other flood control infrastructure; integration of green and blue open spaces through replication of Taman Maju Bersama (TMB) in basin areas, naturalization of rivers, and reservoirs; construction and capacity building capacity for harvesting rainwater and infiltration wells; to the construction of coastal safety embankments which are the obligations of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for 22 kilometers.

As is known, the central government is working on the normalization project through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government is tasked with dealing with land acquisition for affected residents' houses.

However, the process of normalizing the Ciliwung River and Pesanggrahan which began in 2013 had stalled in 2017 due to disagreements on the value of compensation between residents and the government.

Until the end of December 2019, the DKI Provincial Government has started to determine the location of river normalization. Then, carrying out other tasks related to preparation for procurement, such as inviting residents to talk about the condition of the residents whose land will be acquired. However, until now, the problem of land acquisition in affected areas of normalization has not been completed.
