Meeting At UGM, Mahfud MD And Gatot Nurmantyo Talk Heart To Heart

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD met with former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo.

Through his Twitter account @mohmahfudmd, he uploaded a photo together with Gatot and said the meeting was held at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Mosque, Yogyakarta.

"This morning Allah brought me together with Pak Gatot Nurmantyo at the UGM Campus Mosque," Mahfud said as quoted in his Twitter tweet, Friday, November 27.

The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) said that he discussed many things in this meeting. He also admitted that he had spoken from heart to heart, although he did not specify the contents of the conversation.

Through a tweet on his Twitter account, Mahfud also explained why he and Gatot met at UGM. He said that this meeting occurred because they both attended the wedding ceremony for the children of the former Rector of the Yogyakarta University (UNY) Prof. Rochma Wahab and the former chairman of NU DIY.

“We sat in lines and talked about many things heart to heart. We were both present at the ceremony for Prof.'s daughter Prof. Rochmat Wahab, former Rector of YSU and Former Chairman of NU DIY. We also pray khuyu 'for the bride and groom, ”he said.

It is known that Gatot served as TNI Commander from 2014 to 2018 and was replaced by Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

Since he stepped down, Gatot has often held opposing views of the government. In addition, he also formed WE, which is known as an organization that often criticizes President Jokowi's government.
