Complaining Of Headaches And Nausea, Abu Bakar Baasyir Is Treated By RSCM

JAKARTA - Terrorism convict Abu Bakar Ba'asyir is being treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Central Jakarta, after complaining of headaches and nausea.

"Abu Bakar Baasyir is being treated at the Central Jakarta RSCM," said the Head of Public Relations and Protocol at the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) Rika Aprianti in a statement to journalists in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, November 27.

Rika said that currently Baasyir was still undergoing intensive care under the escort of Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror personnel, West Java Police Mobile Brigade, and Mount Sindur Special Prison (Lapas) officers, Bogor, West Java.

"Currently it is still under doctor's care. Complaints of headache, headache and nausea," continued Rika.

Rika further added that this was not the first time Baasyir was hospitalized. "This is not the first time Abu Bakar Bashir has been treated. Abu Bakar Bashir is currently 82 years old," he said.

Head of the Corrections Division of the West Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Abdul Aris, said that Baasyir had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since Tuesday, November 24.

"(Treated) on November 24th. Concerned with health, drop high fever, headache, inflammation," said Abdul.

As is well known, Baasyir was proven guilty in several terrorism cases in Indonesia. He was later sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Panel of Judges at the South Jakarta District Court in 2011.

Baasyir officially became a fostered member of the Class III Gunung Sindur Prison, Bogor on April 16, 2016. He was placed in a special cell, after previously being placed in a prison located on Nusakambangan Island, Cilacap, Central Java.
