DKI Provincial Government Adds 100 Units Of Electric Cars For Official Vehicles, How Much Is The Budget?

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will buy 100 units of electric vehicles for official activities next year. This is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7/2022 regarding the use of electric vehicles as official vehicles for central and regional government agencies.

What's the budget? Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that his party did not yet know the amount of the budget to be disbursed in the 2023 budget year budget. This is because the preparation of the budget itself is still under discussion.

"Later (it will be known), the budget is still under discussion. Later, after the discussion, we will find out how many are possible," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, September 19 evening.

The former member of the DPR also emphasized that old oil-fueled official vehicles will not be sold and will continue to be used even though there will be an addition of 100 new units.

"Not for sale, (old official vehicles) are still being used. Right, there are many needs," he said.

Currently, Riza continued, the DKI Provincial Government has also operated 30 units of Transjakarta electric buses. The plan is that by the end of this year, the procurement of electric buses will be increased to 100 units.

"Next year will also be the same, Transjakarta will continue to add electric buses. We are also trying, if possible, at least 100 Transjakarta cars," he said.

Furthermore, DKI is now reviewing the gradual construction of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) in two of the capital's terminals, namely Pulogebang Terminal, East Jakarta, and Grogol Terminal, West Jakarta.

For information, President Joko Widodo has signed Presidential Instruction No. 7/2022 concerning Battery Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicles) as Operational Service Vehicles and/or Individual Vehicles for Central Government Agencies and Local Governments.

This Presidential Instruction was signed by President Jokowi on September 13, 2022. Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said this Presidential Instruction was a manifestation of Jokowi's commitment to implementing the energy transition from fossil sources to new and renewable energy.

"To realize the grand design of the energy transition, the government begins by transitioning and converting conventional vehicles to electric vehicles," said Moeldoko.

Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7/2022 is addressed to all ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, cabinet secretaries, presidential chiefs of staff, attorney general, TNI commanders, Indonesian police chiefs, heads of non-ministerial government institutions, secretarial leaders of state institutions, governors, and other government officials. regent/mayor.

Through the Presidential Instruction, Jokowi ordered every minister to regional heads to prepare and establish regulations to support the acceleration of the implementation of the use of electric vehicles. The President also instructed the preparation of budget allocations to support the program.

Based on Presidential Instruction 7/2022, the use of electric vehicles as government official vehicles can be carried out through a purchase, lease, and/or conversion scheme of fueled motor vehicles into battery-based electric motorized vehicles in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.
