Allegedly Dragged In Drug Trafficking, 2 Police in NTB Immediately Deactivated

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Police deactivated two of their members who served at the Dompu Police for allegedly being involved in drug trafficking networks.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Commissioner Artanto, confirmed the actions they took against the two individuals. Both are suspected of being involved in drug cases based on the results of the disclosure of the NTB Province National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Eradication Team.

"Yes, it has been deactivated in action", said Artanto, Monday, September 19, quoted from Antara.

The two individuals suspected of being involved in the drug trafficking network had the initials MY and AM. For MY, explained Artanto, a member who works in the Dompu Police area sector. Meanwhile, AM is a member of the Dompu Police Narcotics Investigation Unit.

They were both arrested by the NTB BNNP in mid-August, in Dompu Regency. The arrests began with the search for packages from Pekanbaru.

The package came to MY boarding house, in the Kadai Satu area, Woja District, Dompu Regency. After MY received the package, the officers immediately carried out a raid by confiscating three packs of crystal methamphetamine in a package. From the weighing results, the weight of the evidence of the methamphetamine package was at least 300 grams.

From MY interrogation, AM's role was revealed. To the BNN officer, MY admitted that the item belonged to AM. With the role of the Dompu Police Narcotics Unit member revealed, AM was arrested by BNN officers.

Furthermore, Artanto ensured that his party fully handed over the handling of two members suspected of being involved in the drug trafficking network in Dompu Regency to BNN.

"We leave it entirely to BNN, just waiting for the court's decision", he said.

The decision, he explained, would be a provision from the police in carrying out an ethics trial for the two members.

"So, while we are waiting for a criminal verdict. The examination of alleged ethical violations will continue. Now, it is still in the file", he said.
