Sandiaga Makes Six Points For Voice Pollution Agreements In Canggu Will Be Regulated

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that six points of agreement regarding vote pollution in Canggu Village, Badung, Bali, which have been determined by local tourism and creative economy (parekraf) stakeholders will be strengthened in the form of regulations.

With regulations, according to Sanidaga, it will become a binding legal umbrella so that action can be taken if anyone violates these rules.

"Tourism must be able to bring harmony and balance by taking into account all sides, so as to create comfort not only for tourists, but also for the local community," said Sandiaga in an official statement in Jakarta, Saturday, September 17, quoted by Antara.

The stakeholders in Canggu are said to have agreed on six points consisting of a maximum vote limit of 70 votes for outdoor areas, an operational time limit until 01.00 WITA, then the commitment of business actors and the community and officers in the context of field supervision.

Then also the consistency of the community and employers and officials, consistently carry out joint supervision, and continue to remind entrepreneurs and the surrounding community not to exceed the agreed limits.

The agreement was made by Bendesa Adat Canggu, Perbekel Canggu, Bali and Badung Tourism Offices, Satpol PP, as well as bar and restaurant managers in Canggu.

"I really hope that the agreement that has been submitted will continue to be monitored and improved later in the form of regulations that have considered the calculation of the times and we hope that this can bring Canggu to a better direction," said Sandiaga.

President Joko Widodo is said to be paying attention to reports of noise in Canggu from local communities who are restless about the existence of bars, beach clubs, and nightclubs that disrupt the daily lives of the Balinese residents. Attention is given considering that Bali will host the G20 Presidency.

"We want this to be resolved with local wisdom and we hope this is not the first and we will monitor it until the G20. We hope that all of this can be achieved with solutions and what is prioritized is a traditional and cultural approach," he said.

Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Cok Ace) expressed his appreciation to the central government for the problems that occurred in Canggu. This is considered to have to be a momentum to conduct a thorough evaluation.

He encouraged the points that had been agreed upon by both parties to be followed up by detailing technical matters.

"For example, where does the 70 Economy deal count from. Is it in front of the speaker, 10 meters, what is 50 meters, what is 100 meters, this has not been (in agreement) so it is very relative," said Cok Ace.
