JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held a series of training programs for tourism actors as part of the Tourism Awareness Campaign 5.0 in the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan (BYP) area.

The training for the BYP Region is divided into 2 stages and the first will take place on 12-18 September 2022.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, conveyed the importance of the role of tourist villages in strengthening social, economic and cultural resilience in order to build a prosperous and independent society.

"We have to strengthen the social, economic, cultural resilience of the community, and that is in tourist villages," said Sandiaga, who was present online at the opening of the first batch of BYP training in his press statement, Wednesday, September 14.

This development effort, according to Sandiaga, can be carried out through the 3C concept, namely commitment, competence, and champion to make a quality and sustainable tourism village.

“Competence can be obtained by attending training like this. Improving competence must be diligent in staying in touch and participating in useful activities," he explained.

Increasing the competence and capacity of tourism actors in tourist villages is one of the objectives of the training, which is an advanced stage after the socialization activities of the series of the Tourism Awareness Campaign Program 5.0.

In line with this, at the opening of the training in the previous tourism destination area, Acting Deputy for Resources and Institutions at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Frans Teguh, said the training was the right momentum for self-development, especially in increasing expertise, strengthening tourism product innovation and increasing capacity in the tourism and creative economy.

"I invite tourism and creative economy actors, both those who are already engaged in these fields and those who have an interest or desire (in tourism) to develop themselves and sharpen the skills needed. For the products we offer, how to serve, and to convince tourists, so that we have a good image," he explained.
