JAKARTA - Minister of ATR/BPN, Marshal TNI (Ret.) Hadi Tjahjanto, ensures land acquisition for development related to the nation's capital will pay attention to the land rights of the people, especially indigenous peoples.

"Regarding land acquisition, I make sure that the land acquisition process is carried out by taking into account the rights to community land, especially indigenous peoples," said Hadi Tjahjanto in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, September 14.

He said the Ministry of ATR/BPN had taken accelerated steps in the development of IKN. Such as making a thematic map of land and space, preparing a plan for spatial planning for the national strategic area of Nusantara 2022-2024 as well as the release of forest areas and/or land acquisition. "The Ministry of ATR/BPN has made an inventory of control, ownership, thematic map of land and space for use, and land utilization (IP4T) in IKN. Then at the end of 2022 I targeted all RDTR technical materials," Hadi said as quoted by Antara.

The main goal of IKN development is to build a competitive smart city at the global level. Hadi Tjahjanto is very optimistic that IKN development can run in accordance with the targets set with the land freeze policy that has been implemented.

"We are very optimistic that the IKN development can run according to the specified target. As directed by the president that the IKN development is not solely the physical transfer of government offices. The main goal is to build a competitive smart city at the global level," he said.

There, Hadi Tjahjanto was accompanied by Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN, Raja Juli Antoni. He visited Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan, to follow up on the president's directive to him when he was sworn in, namely supporting IKN development through spatial planning policies and land acquisition. "On this visit, I want to make sure that what is the task of the Ministry of ATR/BPN in IKN development is really carried out well in the field," said Tjahjanto.
