KPK Appointed Minister Edhy Prabowo As Corruption Suspect

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo as a suspect. Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect because he allegedly received a gift or promise related to licensing for ponds and other commodities in 2020.

"After conducting the case title, the KPK concluded that there was a receipt of prizes related to licensing for ponds and other commodities by establishing EP (Edhy Praboowo) as a suspect," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pamolago during a press conference at the KPK building, Wednesday, November 25.

Apart from Edhi, the KPK also appointed six other people. Five people as gift recipients and one person as gift givers to state officials.

The five people who were named as suspects as the recipients of the prize are SAS, APM, SW, AS and AN. Meanwhile, the gift giver is SYT.

The suspected recipients are suspected of Article 12 paragraph 1 letter a or b or article 11 of Law 31 1999 as amended by Law 20 of 2001 on corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code jo Article 64 paragraph 1

This case began when the KPK conducted a hand arrest (OTT) operation against 17 at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. This arrest was made by the prosecution team after Edhy and his entourage arrived from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.
