Claiming To Be A Shaman, A Man In Tangerang Had Disappeared While Carrying His Patient's Money, Motorbike And Cellphone

TANGERANG A man admitted that a shaman in Tangerang City had been arrested at the Tangerang Metro Police. The perpetrator with the initials IS was reported by his victim, Mashadi (29), for a fraud case with a total loss of Rp26 million.

The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said the fraud took place on September 4, 2022 at the Selapajang Jaya TPU, Neglasari District, Tangerang City.

Zain explained that the mode used by IS was to promise the victim a job, but the condition was that the victim had to pay first. However, after the victim paid for it, IS disappeared, fled with the victim's motorbike and cellphone.

The victim had waited for the perpetrator, but until late at night he did not appear either. Feeling cheated, the victim finally reported to the Neglasari Police.

The police will immediately conduct an investigation. As a result, IS was arrested by members of the Neglasari Police on Jalan Raya Pakuhaji, Kayu Agung Village, Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency, Monday, September 12.

"We are still searching and contacting other victims," said Zain.

Furthermore, after the perpetrator was examined, it turned out that IS was not the only time this had acted. IS committed fraud by becoming a shaman since one year ago with 20 victims.

"The perpetrator has been in action for 1 year and there have been 22 victims. Currently, only 5 victims can be contacted," he concluded.
