BPBD: Land Longsor Occurs In A Number Of Banyumas Regions

JAKARTA - A landslide occurred in a number of areas of Banyumas Regency, Central Java, due to heavy rains from Monday, September 12 afternoon to evening.

"Based on reports, landslides occurred in six villages and three sub-districts. In addition to landslides, strong winds were also reported to have occurred in two villages," said Banyumas Regency BPBD Chief Executive Budi Nugroho, Tuesday, September 13.

BPBD Banyumas Regency is still conducting an assessment at the location of the landslide and strong winds. Temporary results, there were two houses that were affected by landslides and one house was threatened with landslides in Pabuaran Village, North Purwokerto District.

Meanwhile, the strong winds affected one house in Kutaliman Village RT 03 RW 04, Kedungbanteng District, and one house in Karanggede Village RT 04 RW 01, Karanglewas District.

"We have carried out rapid assessments and handling the houses of residents who were affected or threatened," he said, quoted from Antara.

BPBD appealed to the people of Banyumas Regency to be aware of the potential for hydrometeorological disasters in the form of floods, landslides, moving soils, strong winds and so on in line with the increasing intensity of rain in recent days.

Meanwhile, in Sumampir Village RT 02 RW 04, North Purwokerto District, two houses collapsed which were suspected to be due to heavy rains that occurred from Monday (12/9) afternoon to evening.

A resident whose house collapsed, Diarti said the incident occurred on Tuesday (13/9), at 01.00 WIB.

According to him, his house, which was contracted by three people, collapsed in the kitchen and bathroom parts.

"Alhamdulillah, there were no victims, because at the time of the incident, we were in the room," he said.

Another collapsed homeowner, Joni admitted that prior to the incident, the foundation of his house had been cracked since the dry season.

In fact, he said, there was a sound like a splash of sand and the house felt like it was about to collapse. When it started to rain frequently, he continued, the soil in his house became unstable and some of the subsiders were 4 meters deep.

"Yesterday it rained heavily and the soil was loose. I actually had intended to repair the house," he said.

However, before the intention was realized, the house which was inhabited by Joni and his wife and two children collapsed in the kitchen, bathroom, and a place for water toren.
