KPK Will Call Former KSAU Agus Supriatna Regarding Allegations Of Corruption Procurement Of AW-101 Helicopters

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will again summon the former Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Agus Supriatna. The summons was related to the investigation into allegations of corruption in the procurement of the AW-101 Helicopter in the Indonesian Air Force. Head of the KPK News Division Ali Fikri said the summons would begin with sending a letter. However, he did not specify when the exact time would be. "We will immediately send a second summons for the witness in question," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Monday, September 12. Ali asked the witnesses who were summoned by the KPK to cooperate, including Agus Supriatna. If he really can't explain because he's bound by the rules, this can be conveyed to investigators. "We hope that cooperative witnesses will be present to fulfill the summons of the KPK as a form of obedience to the law," he said. "Please explain later in front of the investigative team if you feel you cannot be examined or not in accordance with the provisions of the law," continued Ali. As previously reported, Agus Supriatna, who is a former KSAU, was supposed to be questioned on Thursday, September 8. However, he and other witnesses, namely Supriyanto Basuki, who is a retired TNI officer. As for this case, the Director of PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri Irfan Kurnia Saleh or John Irfan Kenway is a suspect in the alleged bribery in the procurement of the AW-101 helicopter. He was detained at the KPK Detention Center at the KPK's Merah Putih building. The KPK suspects that Irfan as a private party is actively holding meetings with the Indonesian Air Force and committing a number of frauds. Among other things, receiving a payment of 100 percent of the contract value. In fact, there are several types of work that do not match specifications such as not installing cargo doors and the number of seats on helicopters that are not appropriate. For his actions, Irfan is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 or Article 3 of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
