JAKARTA - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin had no agenda for attending Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

"No, we don't consider such an option," Peskov told a news conference Friday, citing TASS September 9.

Peskov further explained that Queen Elizabeth II was respected in Russia for her personal qualities.

"He is treated with great respect in Russia, the same as around the world, for his wisdom and for his global authorities. Such quality is lacking at this time on the international stage," he explained.

Peskov remained silent about who would represent Russia at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, saying the ceremonial protocol had not yet been published.

"The protocol practice has not been announced," said Peskov.

"Is anyone allowed to attend the funeral and how it will be arranged. This should be announced by the Royal Court or British authorities. There has been no such announcement yet," Peskov said.

As previously reported, Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-serving king, died at Balmoral Castle, Scotland at the age of 96 Thursday, as quoted by the BBC. She has ruled Great Britain for 70 years.

The longest-serving ruler in the UK and the world's oldest king, has been plagued by health problems since last October, making him struggle to walk and stand.
