ACEH - Military District Command (Kodim) 0113/Gayo Lues, Iskandar Muda Kodam, Aceh destroyed 10,000 cannabis plants in the hilly area of Pepealah Village, Pining District, Gayo Lues Regency. Kodim 0113/Gayo Lues Lieutenant Colonel Inf Krismanto said 10 thousand marijuana plant stems were planted in three hectares of fields. The cannabis plants destroyed vary from seeds to ready for harvest with a height of two meters. "The destruction is carried out by removing and burning. The marijuana fields are in steep hills and take three hours on foot and crossing the river," said Lt. Col. Inf. Krismanto in Gayo Lues, Antara, Thursday, September 8. The TNI AD mid-level officer said the existence of double fields was known from information from the public to members of the TNI Serda Ali Naksabandi, village development officer (babinsa) and Danramil 05/Pining Captain Inf Syahrijal. Based on this information, the ranks of Koramil 05/Pining together with elements of muspika checked the truth. After it was confirmed that the marijuana fields were there, Lt. Col. Inf. Krismanto then reported to Danrem 011/Lilawangsa Colonel Inf Bayu Permana. Furthermore, Danrem 011/Lilawangsa Colonel Inf Bayu Permana ordered the cannabis plant in the three hectares of the field to be destroyed. The destruction took place Wednesday (7/9) led by Lt. Col. Inf. Krismanto and involved TNI soldiers with the community "We urge the public not to plant marijuana and replace it with other productive plants. Ganja is a narcotic that is a national problem because it damages the nation's generation," said Lt. Col. Inf. Krismanto. Meanwhile, the Acting Pengulu (village head) of Pepelah Village, Junaidi, appreciated the TNI staff who destroyed the marijuana fields. The existence of the field shows that there are still people planting these prohibited plants. "We hope that the government will help the community divert cannabis planting to other productive plants such as corn. Moreover, most of our people make a living in farming," said Junaidi.
