Highest Covid-19 Case In Jakarta, Task Force To Anies: Hard Work Don't Be Damaged Because Of Ignorance

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito highlighted five provinces with the highest increase in cases this week, namely DKI Jakarta, Riau, East Java, DI Yogyakarta and Central Sulawesi.

However, Wiku gave a special warning to the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta. This is because DKI has been in the top five provinces for weeks with the highest increase in cases.

"Especially for DKI Jakarta, it has been 3 weeks in a row in the top 5 that the addition of the highest weekly positive cases has been added. In fact, this week it is in the first place," in a YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday, November 24.

Wiku asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan together with local law enforcement officials to take firm action against perpetrators of violations of health protocols according to applicable regulations.

"We ask that these eight months of hard work be damaged by impatience, carelessness and indifference, both local government and society," said Wiku.

He said there were many things that the local government could do to reduce the number of cases. This is because it is feared that a long holiday last week and in the future could trigger an increase in cases.

"Please really increase the capacity of checking COVID-19, especially people with travel history and do massive close contact tracing to detect cases," he explained.

For information, this week at the national level there was an increase in COVID-19 cases by 3.9 percent compared to the previous week.

This increase was contributed by the 5 highest provinces, namely DKI Jakarta up 1,937 from 6,600 to 8,537, Riau up 1166 from 867 to 2,033, East Java up 736 from 1666 to 2,392, DI Yogyakarta up 338 from 281 to 619, and Central Sulawesi up 245 from 111 to 356.

"We see the trend of the 5 cases where the highest cumulative addition is still consistent in 5 provinces this week and the week before. There has been no significant change," said Wiku.

"I beg your very attention to the regional governments of these five provinces to take concrete steps to address the increase in cases because this is very serious," he added.
