Fairy Tales Can Be A Method To Teach Small People About Anti-Corruption

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said fairy tales could be a step for parents to teach children a lot of value, including anti-corruption from an early age.

Deputy for Education and Community Participation Wawan Wardhiana said fairy tales are an effective medium for instilling characters for children. Moreover, if when reading it is presented in a pleasant manner.

"There are many media that can be used to provide anti-corruption education to early childhood. One of them is by storytelling. fairy tales are an effective delivery medium for planting characters for them," Wawan said as quoted from his written statement, Thursday, September 8.

Wawan then revealed that there were a number of fairy tales made by the KPK to apply anti-corruption values. Among them are Fufu and the thief who introduced courage to fairy tales Is a Future for Osyi with the core of the story to apply caution.

In addition to fairy tales, there are other activities that can be done to instill integrity. The KPK even creates a gymnastics called Sahabatelaman who teaches nine anti-corruption values.

The nine anti-corruption values are abbreviated as Friday Cycling KK or Honest, Independent, Responsibility, Brave, Simple, Care, Discipline, Justice and Hard Work.

"Children will remember these values easily because there is a clear picture through fun media," said Wawan.

Meanwhile, KPK Education Network Functional Irene said educating children is certainly different from those who are older. "They don't need to mention it sharply or clearly about anti-corruption, but it's more about planting characters in the 9 anti-corruption values," he said.

"These values can be introduced to young friends with simple activities in everyday life," he concluded.
