JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has begun investigating alleged criminal offenses related to the general election for the candidate for West Sumatra Governor Mulyadi. Mulyadi is suspected of carrying out an off-schedule campaign.

"After conducting a study by Bawaslu and investigators by the police and assistance from the prosecutor, Gakkumdu agreed that the case was an election crime and recommended that it be forwarded to investigators," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Tuesday, November 24. .

Awi said the West Sumatra cagub number three campaigned on a national television program on November 12, 2020. At that time, Mulyadi was a resource person in the program.

"The content or content of the impressions is considered to contain campaign content," he said.

The investigation into this case was also based on a report by another candidate, Yogi Ramon Setiawan. The report was submitted to Bawaslu on 17 November.

Reporting on the alleged violation of the General Election Commission (PKPU) Regulation number 5 of 2020 in conjunction with West Sumatra KPU Decree number 31 of 2020, campaigns through printed and electronic mass media can begin to be implemented on November 22 to December 5, 2020 or for 14 days.
