JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) congratulated the new British Prime Minister, Liz Truss.

Jokowi hopes that with the position held, Truss can re-lanjutant and strengthen Indonesia-England's strategic partnership for the realization of the stability of the Indo Pacific region.

Truss was inaugurated as British Prime Minister on Tuesday 6 September. He was elected after a significant vote ahead of his former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak.

Truss came out as the winner in the Conservative Party vote, with 81,326 votes compared to 60,399.

Truss has been recorded as the 4th Prime Minister of the Conservative Party since the 2015 election.
