Kemendikbud Will Open Teacher Recruitment For First Aid Status From The Honorary Track

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) will soon open admissions for school teachers with honorary status to become teachers with government employee status with a work agreement (PPPK).

Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim said honorary teachers who serve in both public and private schools can be appointed as teachers with the status of government employees with a work agreement (PPPK). The statement was made in a press conference attended by Gowa Kamsina Regional Secretary and Head of Gowa Gowa BKPSM Muh Basir.

"We plan to provide opportunities for all honorarium teachers who are included in the Dapodik list to take the selection test which will take place in 2021," said Nadiem Makarim as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 24.

He explained that the opportunity for honorarium teachers was due to the huge need for teachers throughout Indonesia.

"This PPPK selection opens the results of field data collection. Based on Dapodik, Kemendikbud estimates the need for teachers to reach around one million teachers outside of civil servants who are currently teaching," he added.

In addition, this selection was also opened to provide opportunities for graduates of teacher professional education (PPG) who have not taught yet to prove their competence.

The P3K pathway teacher selection, which is planned to start in 2021, has greater opportunities for honorary teachers and PPG alumni.

"Selection participants can take up to two times. If the person concerned fails at the first opportunity, then they can study again and can repeat the selection exam up to two times. The selection exam can be followed in the same year in 2021 or the following year," explained Nadiem.

The good news is for district governments that all funding will be included in the budget of the ministry of education and culture.

"Based on the explanation from the Minister of Education and Culture, all costs incurred from the selection process to the salary that will be received if they pass the selection will become the Ministry of Education and Culture's budget. This is good news for us in the local government because we are not burdened to change the existing budget posture. at this time, "said the Acting Regional Secretary of Gowa Kamsina.

Through teacher recruitment using the P3K route, Gowa Regency Government hopes to improve the welfare of honorary teachers in this area.

Hopefully with the policy of the central government, all honorary teachers who serve in schools and are registered in Dapodik can pass this test, "he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of BKPSDM Gowa Muh Basir said that with this policy, his side's first step was to re-collect data.

"So we urge and convey to the Education Office as the one in charge of teachers to be able to collect data in accordance with the PPPK requirements that have been determined.
