JAKARTA - Hundreds of workers demonstrated against the increase in fuel oil (BBM) in front of the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 6. An orator called for Joko Widodo to resign from his position as president of the Republic of Indonesia.

Confirmed after the speech, the Bekasi Regency/City SPSI Coordinator, Guntoro, explained Jokowi's request to resign as president.

According to him, Jokowi is no longer siding with the people by increasing the price of fuel which affects the prices of other basic needs.

"If then the leadership of the republic does not side with the people, by adding to the burden on the people, what else should be done besides resigning?" said Guntoro to reporters in front of the House of Representatives (DPR) Building, Tuesday, September 6.

"If you can't afford it, just resign instead of adding to the burden on the people", he added.

By increasing the price of fuel, continued Guntoro, the impact is not only about the increase in fuel, but also the increase in basic commodities. He asked the government to rethink if it wanted to issue policies that directly intersect with the needs of the people.
