Bareskrim Set Two Suspects Of Corruption Cases In Gerobak, Ministry Of Trade

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police finally named two suspects behind the alleged corruption case in the procurement of carts at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) for the 2018-2019 period. Both are unscrupulous employees of the ministry.

"That's right, there are two (suspects, ed) from the Ministry of Trade," said Wadirtipidkor Bareskrim Polri Kombes Arief Adiharsa when confirmed, Tuesday, September 6.

However, it was not clearly explained about the identities of the suspects. Including, about their respective roles.

So far, Arief has only mentioned that the determination of the two suspects is based on the results of the case title.

Separately, the Director of Corruption Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo, said that everything related to the alleged corruption case would be conveyed in the near future.

The case of alleged corruption in this cart began when the Ministry of Trade procured trade carts for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year.

In the process, the government disbursed the contract value for the 2018-2019 Fiscal Year of IDR 76,372,725,000.

However, there are certain parties who play naughty with the procurement of fictitious carts to inflate funds.

Meanwhile, the investigation of this corruption case is based on complaints from the public who feel that they do not get their rights as recipients of trade cart assistance.

In fact, there were two reports received by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police regarding the alleged corruption. The reports include registered with the number LP/A/0224/V/2022/SPKT.DITTIPIDKOR/BARESKRIM dated May 17, 2022 and LP/A/0225/V/2022/SPKT.DITIPIDKOR/BARESKRIM dated May 19, 2022.
