2 UIN Lecturer Walisongo Semarang Charged With A Bribe Of Rp. 850 Million, Witnesses Call Re-Selected Village Apparatus Never Holded

SEMARANG - Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the State Islamic University of Walisongo Semarang Misbah Zulfa Elisabeth revealed that the re-test for the selection of village officials in Gajah District, Demak Regency, Central Java, which was declared legally flawed because of fraud was never carried out. "Until now, there has been no re-test," said Misbah when examined as a witness in the trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 29. In this case, two FISIP UIN lecturers, Walisongo Semarang, were tried on suspicion of accepting bribes of Rp. 830 million in the selection of village officials in Gajah District, Demak Regency. The two defendants are Amin Farih, who is Deputy Dean of FISIP UIN Semarang and Adib who served as Chair of the Semarang FISIP UIN Political Science Studies Program. According to Misbah, the recommendation to carry out a re-test in the selection of village officials in Gajah District was based on the findings of the investigative team formed by the Chancellor of UIN Semarang. In the recommendation, it is known that there were 16 test participants who asked to be included in the implementation of the computer assisted test (CAT). Misbah said the minutes regarding the implementation of the CAT exam on December 6, 2021 were still published, but without the signature of his approval. "The news of the ceremony for the implementation of the exam was signed by Amin Farih at the pressure of the village heads who carried out the selection exam in collaboration with UIN Semarang," he said in a trial led by Chief Justice Arkanu. The two defendants, continued Misbah, also returned the bribes with a total value of Rp. 830 million according to the recommendation of the investigation team. Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UIN Semarang Imam Taufik confirmed that the CAT test in the selection of village officials in Gajah District had to be repeated because there was fraud. He added that the alleged bribery of the two UIN Semarang lecturers was revealed during the CAT test for the selection of village officials in Gajah District, Demak Regency, in December 2022. The Chancellor was suspicious of a number of test participants who completed the exam in a short time and obtained a fairly high score.
