JAKARTA - Iranian authorities said they had received the United States' response to the European Union's (EU) draft proposal to save the 2015 Nuclear Deal, and would discuss it with the European bloc after a review.
"Tonight Iran received the US response through the European Union. A careful review of the response has begun in Tehran," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.
"Iran will share its views with the EU, as the coordinator of nuclear talks, after completing the Tehran review," he said.
Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said his party had submitted a 'final proposal' to save the 2015 nuclear deal.
That was after indirect Washington-Tehran talks over the past 16 months, with the European Union being the bridge of communication. Responses are expected to come from related parties in the not too distant future.
Iran last week responded to the EU text with "additional views and considerations", while calling on the United States to show flexibility to resolve the three remaining issues.
Separately, US State Department spokesman Ned Price confirmed Washington had responded to Tehran's comments on the EU text.
"Our review of those comments is now complete. We have responded to the EU today," Price said.
