East Aceh District Attorney Detains Fictitious Credit Suspect At PT Pegadaian With Rp1.9 Billion Loss

ACEH TIMUR - The public prosecutor of the East Aceh District Attorney (Kejari) has detained a suspect in a fictitious credit corruption case against PT Pegadaian (Persero) with a loss of Rp. 1.9 billion.

The Head of the Aceh Timur Semeru Prosecutor's Office through the Head of the Intelligence Section Wendy Yuhrizal said the suspect had the initials MFJ (34), a resident of Gampong Jawa, Langsa Kota District, Langsa City.

"The suspect is a former Head of the Idi Sharia Service Unit, East Aceh Regency, PT Pegadaian (Persero) Langsa Branch. The suspect MFJ is being held in Idi Class II/B Prison, East Aceh," said Wendy Yuhrizal in East Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, August 24 .

Wendy Yuhrizal said that the suspect MFJ was suspected of committing irregularities in the sharia-based pawn loan service at the Idi Sharia Service Unit. The mortgage loan was carried out by the suspect MFJ fictitiously.

The suspect MFJ applied for a mortgage loan using the data and identity of the pawnshop customer, even though the customer had never applied for a pawn loan.

As for the guarantee, said Wendy Yuhrizal, the suspect MFJ used the customer's collateral which was stored in the safe of the Idi Sharia Service Unit Office.

Wendy said the collateral was brought home first and then brought back the next day to trick her subordinates.

"The position of the suspect is MFJ as the head of the unit, so it is easy to return the collateral belonging to the customer to the original storage place in his office safe at that time," said Wendy Yuhrizal.

MFJ's actions were discovered when the Internal Monitoring Unit (SPI) team conducted a routine inspection. The team calculates the physical amount of collateral and matches it with the data. From the examination, it is known that the physical amount of the guarantee does not match the data.

"As a result of this act, Idi's Sharia Service Unit suffered a loss of Rp. 1.9 billion. The suspect MFJ was detained for the next 20 days," said Wendy Yuhrizal.
