4 Babies In North Sulawesi Confirmed By COVID-19, Spread In Minahasa And Manado City

MANADO - The North Sulawesi Health Service (Dinkes Sulut) stated that as many as four babies aged under four years in the province were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"Transmission is easy when children are taken out of the house for activities or adults bring the virus into the house," said Head of the Surveillance and Immunization Section of the North Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Merry Pasorong in Manado, Antara, Wednesday, August 24.

Therefore, he said, the North Sulawesi Health Office continued to invite the public to work together with the government in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Among them, immediately receive a complete vaccination (first dose and second dose), as well as a booster vaccination (third dose) that has met the booster criteria, which is at least three months apart from the second dose.

The four babies who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 came from the Minahasa Regency, two people, and the North Minahasa Regency and Manado City each.

The babies who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 are part of the 40 cases that increased on Tuesday, August 23 at 22.11 WITA. As a result of the additional 40 new cases of COVID-19, the accumulation of positive confirmed residents increased to 51,785 people.

Meanwhile, 50,371 people recovered cases with a cure rate of 97.27 percent.

Furthermore, there were 1,177 cases of death with a case fatality rate of 2.27 percent, while active cases were 237 people or increased to 0.46 percent, said Merry Pasorong.
