Allegations Of Obstruction Of Justice In Brigadier J's Case Are Increasing, National Police Chief: Already 97 Members Have Been Examined

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the number of members being investigated in an effort to investigate the obstruction of justice in the case of Brigadier J's murder continues to grow. Currently, 97 members of the Bhayangkara Corps have been questioned.

"We continue to develop internal inspections, we have examined 97 personnel," said Sigit in a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR RI, Wednesday, August 24.

With the current number, it means that there are an additional 14 people who are being questioned.

Of the dozens of members, almost half of them are suspected of violating the professional code of ethics. They are said to be facing the steps of investigation and investigation.

"35 people are suspected of violating the professional code of ethics," he said.

"With the details based on this rank, apart from the criminal code of conduct, Inspector General Pol 1 personnel, Brigadier General Pol 3, Kombes Pol 6, AKBP 7, Kompol 4, AKP 5, Iptu 2, Ipda 1, Bripka 1, Brigadier Police 1, Brigadier 2 and Bharada 2," continued Sigit.

Then, said Sigit, there are 18 people who have been placed in a special place (patsus). The rest are still in the process of being explored.

"Two have now been named as suspects in connection with the police report from the Criminal Investigation Unit. So that only 16 people are in the Special Investigations Unit, while the rest are detained in connection with the cases reported at the Criminal Investigation Unit," said Sigit.

It is known, in the case of Brigadier J, a special team of the National Police has named five suspects. They include Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Bharada Richard Eliezer, Bripka Ricky Rizal, and Strong Maruf.

Most recently, the Timsus also named Putri Chandrawathi or the wife of Ferdy Sambo as suspects.

They were charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
