JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta is following up on information on allegations of illegal levies (extortion) carried out by unscrupulous employees within the DKI Jakarta Education Office.
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Riza Patria said that his party had instructed the Inspectorate to carry out checks, supervision and evaluation of the perpetrators and recipients of the extortion.
"Thank you for the supervision, the relevant agencies will check it later," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.
According to him, such information is important to improve the recruitment process so that it does not only run according to existing rules and regulations, but must be free from extortion.
Riza also emphasized that his party will give appropriate sanctions if the person concerned has been proven to have committed extortion within the DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik).
"All violations that are not in accordance with ethics are sanctioned by civil servants, employees in the provincial government," he said.
They will conduct an investigation into the alleged fraud. However, Riza has not been able to confirm that the perpetrators will receive criminal sanctions.
"Later we will see the extent of the case, will check, we have to be careful, see the truth, later if it is proven there is a sanction from the Inspectorate," he said.
Previously, the recipients of the Decision Letter (SK) for the Appointment of Individual Work Contract Teachers (KKI) were asked for extortion. The decree was allegedly genuine but fake (asphalt) was distributed and signed by an official of the DKI Jakarta Education Office.
Executive Director of Edu Watch Indonesia (EWI) Annas Fitrah Akbar said the modus operandi of the DKI Jakarta Disdik ASN is to issue a decree of appointment without being given a NIK.
Annas alleged that the person who carried out the extortion was previously the Head of the PTK Sub-dept. Section of East Jakarta City I. The modus operandi was to issue a decree on the appointment of a KKI teacher which turned out to be false.
"It is clear that Article 368 regarding Extortion and Article 263 in conjunction with 264 of the Criminal Code concerning Counterfeit Letters can be imposed," he said.
