JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. Maming gave orders to determine which companies have mining business permits (IUP).

This allegation was investigated by a witness, namely the former State Civil Apparatus (ASN) Raden Dwidjono Putrohadi Sutopo.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Dwidjono was questioned on Monday, August 22 yesterday. He was examined at the Class IIA Banjarmasin Prison.

"He was present and confirmed, among other things, regarding the alleged order by the suspect MM to determine the companies that received the IUP in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan," Ali told reporters, Tuesday, August 23.

Ali did not specify which companies were determined by Mardani. However, the KPK believes that Dwidjono's statement will shed light on the alleged bribery of the mining business permit that ensnared Mardani.

Previously reported, the KPK named Mardani a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of mining business permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was identified as a suspect recipient.

Meanwhile, as the giver, Hendry Soetio who is the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) was declared dead.

Even though he died, the KPK confirmed that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance. He is believed to have received money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020 up to Rp104.3 billion which was received through his trusted people and company.
