JAKARTA - The Rp4 billion Green Open Space (RTH) development project in Rawasari, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, has been abandoned. The stalled development of green open space in Central Jakarta has stopped since three months ago.

"The construction of this park has been stalled for three months and I don't know what caused it. I'm just here to look after it," said a park official at the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department who did not want to be named, Tuesday, August 23.

From observations at the location, the park which is being built is starting to be neglected and there is no activity from the workers. Although several sports facilities have been installed, the work on this park has stopped. However, officers are still guarding the area of the RTH development project.

Head of the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-dept., Mila Ananda, confirmed that the RTH construction was indeed at a standstill. The stoppage of construction which cost Rp4 billion was due to administrative and technical problems.

"Indeed there are technical problems related to the implementation. However, it is planned that in September the construction will resume," said Mila to the media crew.

Mila said the construction of the park is targeted to be completed by the end of 2022. Later in the park there will be a jogging track, outdoor fitness and other sports facilities.

"RTH, when it is finished, is Instagrammable, which is friendly to children," he said.
