TANJUNGPINANG - Tanjungpinang Police, Riau Islands Police (Kepri) arrested a woman with the initials A for being involved in the case of selling Singaporean sijie gambling in the local area.

Tanjungpinang Police Chief Kombes Heribertus Ompusunggu said the perpetrator with the initials A was arrested on Saturday, August 20, starting from information from the public.

There is a woman acting to accommodate the sale of Singapore sijie at Jalan Cut Lembu Number 23 in Tanjungpinang.

"Receiving this information, the Jatanras Satreskrim Unit of the Tanjungpinang Police immediately went to the scene and secured perpetrator A along with a number of evidences," said the Tanjungpinang Police Chief in his office, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 22.

The police chief explained that the evidence that had been secured from perpetrator A included cash amounting to Rp600 thousand as a result of gambling sales, one black Oppo brand mobile phone, and one book of Sijie gambling recapitulation.

To the officers, he said, the perpetrator also admitted that the installers of the sijie gambling game were two male perpetrators with the initials S and L.

After that, the officers immediately arrested perpetrators S and L, who were at home and in a coffee shop, respectively.

"The perpetrators and evidence of this sijie gambling case have been secured at the Tanjungpinang Police for further processing," he said.

The Head of the Polresta emphasized that the Tanjungpinang Police were committed to eradicating all forms of gambling crime both conventionally and online according to the instructions of the National Police Chief General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"Anything called gambling, whether it's land gambling, online gambling, and various other forms of criminal offenses must be dealt with," he asserted.
