Eri Cahyadi-Armudji And Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman Clash Again At The Surabaya Pilkada Debate Stage

SURABAYA - The second debate in the Pilkada in Surabaya, East Java, was held tonight. Two candidate pairs, Eri Cahyadi-Armudji and Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman, will face each other on the Surabaya Pilkada debate stage.

The KPU of Surabaya City tightened its health protocol during the second debate in the Surabaya Pilkada. The regional election debate was held at the Surabaya Dyandra Convention Center.

"The evaluation results of the first public debate, we anticipate a crowd by tightening health protocols," said Surabaya City KPU member Agus Turcham as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 18.

According to him, the Surabaya KPU hopes that the second debate event can follow strict health protocol rules.

"However, all rules and regulations for the implementation of the debate remain from the KPU. Likewise with the material from the panelists," he said.

Not only that, his party also appealed to the candidate pairs not to bring the masses, especially sympathetic groups who usually have entertainment nuances.

Chairman of the KPU of Surabaya City, Nur Syamsi, said that the second session of the public debate will discuss the theme "Improving Surabaya City Public Service and Welfare".

In a coordination meeting with the Bawaslu, the police, and the COVID-19 Task Force, his party proposed that a 50 meter radius from the Dyandra Building already have an insulation to prevent potential supporters from entering the location.

Nur Syamsi hopes that all candidate pairs will not mobilize crowds that have the potential to cause crowds.
