JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya will implement electronic traffic law enforcement (e-TLE) for motorcyclists in the DKI Jakarta area. It is planned that the implementation of this electronic ticket will be carried out starting next February.

Kasubdit Bin Gakkum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Fahri Siregar said, in the plan to implement the e-TLE system for motorbikes, the enforcement scheme would not be different from four-wheeled vehicles. Later, cameras installed in several corners will record vehicle data and forms of violations.

"(Action) Same as e-TLE, the mechanism does not change, only additional features (for recording) motorbikes," Fahri said when confirmed, Wednesday, January 22.

In addition, in its application, around 57 e-TLE cameras will be placed at several points. However, for now, only two places have installed this sophisticated camera. While the rest, it has not yet been determined which locations will be installed with the e-TLE camera.

"The cameras have been installed for prosecution on motorbikes on Jalan Sudirman and TransJakarta Corridor 6, Ragunan-Monas, to be precise in front of the Immigration Office," said Fahri.

Later, dozens of cameras installed will take action against a number of violations by motorcyclists. Some of them, violating signs, road markings, and wearing helmets.

Before it is enforced, the Jaya Metro Polda Ditlantas will carry out socialization steps and trials for three to seven days. "If later in February, we will socialize (first) a week, then take action," said Fahri.
