Budi Waseso Calls The Scout Movement Important To Educate Young People With Good Character And Serve The Republic Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The head of Kwarnas (Kakwarnas) of the Scout Movement, Budi Waseso, invites all Scout members to always be dedicated and remain cheerful in establishing brotherhood with fellow Indonesians.

"This is in accordance with the theme of the XI 2022 National Jamboree, namely 'Cheerful, Dedicated and Achievement'," he said at the 2022 Scout Day Commemoration event which was accessed online from Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 14.

He said the theme of the XI 2022 National Jamboree needs to be applied by all members of the Scout movement, especially students throughout Indonesia.

"Let us remain cheerful, always dedicated in all activities, whether at school, campus, workplace, or otherwise and try to achieve achievements in the fields we are engaged in," he said.

He said the Scout movement is very important in educating Indonesian youth so that they can become youths of good character and piety and serve the Republic of Indonesia.

"Scout members also need to continue to improve their independence, skills, unity and integrity and be committed to the appreciation and practice of the Scout honor code, namely Satya and Darma Scouts," he said.

He also said that the XI National Jamboree was held at the Campground and Graha Wisata Pramuka (Buperta) Cibubur, East Jakarta.

In the event, which was held from August 14-21, 2022, he said, various activities were enlivened, including sustainable development villages, scouting skills, technology, arts and culture, digital villages and cloud communities, water adventures and educational tours.

"In addition, community service activities in the form of latrines and distribution of basic food items to local residents will be carried out by the assistant coaches," he said.

In addition, he said, in Buperta Cibubur prepared fruit gardens and plantations of Nusantara hard plants.

Previously, Kakwarnas said that as many as 11 thousand Scouts from all regions in Indonesia participated in the national jamboree.

The activity took place in compliance with the applicable health protocols in accordance with the provisions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Participants have received vaccinations, at least the second dose and include the results of the PCR or antigen swab test in accordance with government policies regarding travel from their respective regions to Cibubur, Jakarta, said Budi Waseso.
