Apart From The Pemalang Regent, Mukti Agung, 22 Other People Were Also Brought To The KPK Building During OTT

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron said there were 22 other people who were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) with Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung. They were escorted to the KPK's Red and White Building from Pemalang, Central Java.

"We have arrested several people, about 23 people from Pemalang," Ghufron told reporters on Friday, August 12.

Ghufron revealed that bribery was suspected. However, he did not specify how much money was received.

"Regarding allegations of corruption, bribery and illegal levies in the procurement of goods and services as well as positions," he said.

The KPK now still has 1x24 hours to examine those caught in the silent operation. Later, the announcement of the suspect and the construction of the alleged bribery will be delivered at a press conference.

The public is asked to be patient and not speculate. "KPK is examining it at a later time, we will explain in more detail," said Ghufron.

Previously, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that the OTT of Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung Wibowo by the KPK was a warning. Regional heads stay away from all forms of corruption.

"I've actually reminded my friends (regional heads in Central Java Province) many times and of course I'll wait for the developments," said Ganjar in Semarang, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 11.

According to Ganjar, communication in an effort to warn regional heads in Central Java Province not to be involved in corruption has been carried out intensely, especially since the Central Java Provincial Government has long cooperated with the KPK in preventing corruption.

"I always remind him because in fact our cooperation with law enforcement, with the KPK has been too frequent," he said.

Ganjar revealed that the KPK in each of its activities in Central Java does not only carry out socialization and education in eradicating corruption, but also includes warnings or codes that regional heads must pay attention to.

The emphasis, Ganjar continued, is self-control in each individual head of the region.

"Be careful, yes, in Central Java, there are things like buying and selling positions, there are people in Central Java who are playing projects, there are people who are like this which are considered evil. Now, at that time we have to exercise self-control," he said.
