Police Guard The Monas Area, Anticipate Wild Races

JAKARTA - Based on information on the official Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro, Friday morning, several points of the road being monitored by the police include Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara/Harmoni around the Pertamina Central office in Gambir.

"Central Jakarta Restro Police carry out guard and security in front of PT Pertamina Pusat in anticipation of illegal speeding around the Gambir Monas, Central Jakarta," said a statement uploaded to the Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetroJaya, Friday morning.

The area around Monas became one of the points that became the attention of police officers because it was not uncommon to be a target location for illegal racing at night until the early hours of the morning.

Police officers then put up an orange barrier to close the track that had been a wild racing track.

A number of police were deployed to conduct surveillance around the Monas area.

The police also conduct security patrols around the Monas area which is close to the Presidential Palace or Ring One area to anticipate speeding on the highway.
