Jakarta Transportation Integration Tariff Applies, DPRD Highlights The Long Distance Between Modes Of Transit

JAKARTA - The maximum transportation mode integration tariff of Rp. 10 thousand can already be used through the JakLingko application. There is one thing that has been highlighted by the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the implementation of the tariff integration of Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta.

Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PKB-PPP Faction Hasbiallah Ilyas highlighted one thing that the DKI Provincial Government needs to pay attention to is the long enough distance for customers to travel when transiting or switching between modes in areas that are not transit oriented development (TOD).

"The problem is this, the people in Jakarta (during transit) this way is a bit far on foot because it is not direct (transit)," said Hasbi when contacted, Thursday, August 11.

Hasbi said that the DKI Provincial Government needs to facilitate passengers to facilitate the transit process from one mode of transportation to another. This condition has been applied to neighboring countries, namely Singapore.

In this way, the utilization of the newly implemented integration tariff can maximize the increase in the number of people who use public transportation activities and leave private vehicles.

"The distance to continue from one mode to another should indeed be shortened. In Singapore, right, we go down (one mode), immediately arrive (transit to another mode)," he said.

However, Hasbi admitted that this effort could not be done in a short time.

"Indeed, this is a long term. It cannot be resolved during the current governor's term. In my opinion, starting from proposing a 2023 budget," Hasbi continued.

For information, the use of tariffs for the integration of Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta transportation modes, a maximum of Rp. 10,000, has been implemented starting today. This integration tariff has only been applied through ticket purchases on the JakLingko application.

When using the integration tariff through the JakLingko application, users of transportation modes are only charged a maximum travel fee of IDR 10,000 for up to 180 minutes or 3 hours.

The implementation of the transportation integration tariff of a maximum of Rp. 10,000 was determined by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan through Governor's Decree Number 733 of 2022 concerning the Amount of Mass Public Transport Service Tariff Packages.

There is also an initial fee for the integration fare of Rp. 2,500 which will be charged to passengers when entering the bus stop, station, or passenger transport service (feeder).

After paying the initial fee, the next trip fare paid by the passenger is based on the distance traveled, which is IDR 250 per kilometer. Then, there is a maximum one-time fare of IDR 10,000.

In this condition, the passenger does not leave the mode of transportation since the first time he puts down the electronic payment instrument until he ends the trip by putting the payment instrument back on the tap out machine.

If a passenger wants to transit from one mode of transportation to another, then the transfer is done at the available bus stop or integration station.

Meanwhile, if in one trip the passenger spends more than 180 minutes of travel time, then apart from the maximum number of fare as intended, the fare package for the next trip will be calculated.
