Had Difficulty Because Domicile Changed, Now Bogor Regency Government Starts Handling Malnourished Children In Parungpanjang

BOGOR - The Government of Bogor Regency, West Java, through the Health Service (Dinkes) handled the case of malnutrition experienced by AM (7) a resident of Parungpanjang District, Bogor.

"We have received reports of cases of malnutrition in June 2022. Chronologically, there are reports from our cadres in the field who weigh the weight of AM patients," said Secretary of the Bogor District Health Office, Agus Fauzi in Cibinong, Bogor, Antara, Thursday, 11. August.

According to him, after receiving reports of cases of malnutrition, the Health Office together with the local Health Center regularly monitor AM's health development, by providing supplementary food (PMT) and weighing AM regularly.

"Not only that, the team also conducts socialization education on healthy nutrition patterns. We also regularly coordinate with local village officials to monitor the progress of AM patients," he explained.

Agus said that the Health Office had problems handling it because of the loss of communication with AM's family entering July because AM's family's domicile was not fixed.

"We are constrained by the patient's domicile address changing because the patient's family lives on a contract. Finally we lost contact with the patient in July," said Agus.

However, in the same month the Health Office returned to handle AM because of another report of malnutrition. Then in August 2022 the Puskesmas gave a referral to AM to get treatment at Leuwiliang Hospital because he had fever and seizures.

The results of the diagnosis stated that in addition to poor nutrition, AM had co-morbidities, namely Tuberculosis (TBC) or a lung infection.

Agus explained, malnutrition can be caused by comorbidities. Because, apart from the lack of food intake, balanced nutrition has not been met.

Currently AM is still being treated at Leuwiliang Hospital. Bogor District Health Office, said Aagus, is trying to handle it in coordination with village officials to administer the Regional Health Insurance (Jamkesda).

He explained that the handling of cases of malnutrition was carried out in multi-sectoral ways, involving various agencies such as the Food Security Service, Social Service, Agriculture, Horticulture and Plantation Service, Community and Village Empowerment Service, and other stakeholders.

"For the case of the AM patient, there is no charge because it is guaranteed by Jamkesda. The Bogor Regency Government will actively monitor the patient's health after intensive care," said Agus.
