JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has extended the detention period of former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti for another 30 days. Investigators still need time to collect evidence of alleged bribery for apartment construction permits.
Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that the extension of the detention was carried out in accordance with the decision of the Head of the Corruption Court at the Yogyakarta District Court (PN).
"The team still needs time to collect evidence so that they can extend the detention period for suspects HS et al," said Ali in a written statement, Thursday, August 11.
Haryadi and two other suspects, namely the Head of the Yogyakarta City Government Investment Office and PTSP Nurwidhihartana and Hariyadi's personal secretary and aide, Triyanto Budi Yuwono, will be detained again until August 31.
Ali said Haryadi was detained at the KPK Rutan in the KPK's Red and White building; Nurwidhihartana detained at the Central Jakarta Police Rutan; and Triyanto Budi Yuwono were detained at the Pomdam Jaya Guntur.
"The extension of the detention is in accordance with the determination of the Head of the Corruption Court at the Yogyakarta District Court," said Ali.
It was previously reported that Haryadi Suyuti and three other people were also named suspects in the bribery case for building permits. They are the Head of the Yogyakarta City Government Investment Office and PTSP Nurwidhihartana; Hariyadi's personal secretary and aide, Triyanto Budi Yuwono; and Vice President Real Estate PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Oon Nusihono. Haryadi, who just retired last May, is suspected of receiving facilitation payments related to the issuance of the Building Permit (IMB) for the Royal Kedaton Apartment in the Malioboro area, Yogyakarta City. In fact, this building does not meet several requirements from the results of research and studies conducted by the PUPR Service.
This discrepancy is related to the height of the building and the position of the degree of slope of the building from the road area. To smooth the permit, Oon allegedly gave money to Haryadi through Triyanto and Nurwidhihartana up to Rp. 50 million. Then, when the IMB was finally issued, Oon came to Yogyakarta to meet Haryadi at his official residence. At that time, he handed over US$27,258 in a brown paper bag or goodie bag.
In addition, Haryadi is also suspected of receiving money from the process of issuing a development permit in the city of Yogyakarta. However, it is not known for sure how many there will be because the investigation will continue to be carried out by KPK investigators.
