BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police (Polda) have arrested one person in connection with the alleged murder of a mother and child in Jalancagak Village, Subang Regency, West Java, which occurred in August 2021.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said the person who was detained had the initials S, who was suspected of being at the scene at the time of the murder.

"So the name in question is already in the hands of the investigator, then we will develop it," said Ibrahim at the West Java Regional Police, Bandung City, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 11.

He explained that police investigators received information that S was active on a ship as a crew member (ABK). Then, the ship is scheduled to dock at Muara Angke Port.

"Investigators and field investigators coordinated with the Sector Police in Muara Angke and carried out development waiting for the ship; and at that time a person named S was found," he added.

Even though he has been arrested, he continued, the person with the initials S is still a witness. The police conducted an examination of S to deepen the suspicion of involvement in the murder case.

"This is what we need to clarify again, so that later an examination will be carried out on the person concerned," said Ibrahim.

Previously, on Wednesday morning, August 18, 2021, the bodies of the mother and child, namely Tuti (55) and Amelia Mustika (23), were found dead in the trunk of a car at their residence in Jalancagak Village, Subang Regency, West Java.

The Subang Police then concluded that the two bodies were murder victims. However, after almost a year, the police have not yet named a suspect in the murder case.
