JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) targets the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) to be able to undergo dynamic tests in November 2022 or coincide with the implementation of the G20 Indonesia Presidency.

"This project is a form of Indonesia-China friendship which is always discussed in meetings of the two countries. For that let us support this KCJB project so that it can run well and sustainably," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, August 5, quoted from Antara.

The Minister of Transportation explained that KCJB adopts high technology, namely Grade of Automation (GOA) Level 1, and has a slim design so that it can support the acceleration or speed of the train which can reach 350 km/hour.

Later, the KCJB will serve as many as 68 trips per day and stop at five stations.

“The travel time from Jakarta to Bandung only takes 36-45 minutes. Previously, it took approximately 2.5 hours to reach the destination," said the Minister of Transportation.

The presence of the KJCB as an environmentally friendly mass transportation, with a good level of safety and security as well as time efficiency, is expected to further increase public interest in using public transportation rather than private vehicles.

"For that, I urge the speed of construction time and system integration to be accelerated, so that the benefits that have been waiting for the train user community can immediately be felt," he said.

On the same occasion, President Director of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said, this inaugural delivery of the EMU and Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) was the first time the delivery of fast train EMUs from China to overseas.

A total of 11 series of trains produced by CRRC Sifang, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China have been completed in early April this year.

EMU and CIT which were sent to Indonesia today have completed static and dynamic tests at their production sites.

"Until now, the progress of the KCIC project has reached 85 percent, and there are still some tunnel 2 works, pre loading, track laying and station completion," he said.
