GARUT - A pilgrim from group 41 who died of heart disease was not brought to Indonesia, but according to local government policy, he was buried in Medina.

"The Hajj is named Dedi Hamin, 59, from Cibodas Village, Cikajang, and the deceased is buried in Medina," said Head of the Garut Regency Ministry of Religion, Cece Hidayat, as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 4.

He said the Ministry of Religion received a report of a pilgrim who died in Raudhoh, the Prophet's Mosque complex in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Wednesday (3/8).

The news of grief and the deceased was buried in the country, he said, had been informed to his family in Garut Regency, with the alleged cause being told because of heart disease.

"Yes, one person died in Medina of heart disease," he said.

He said that the deceased had previously felt unwell, possibly because he was in a hurry and was short of breath and eventually died.

"From the hotel it may be in a hurry, the walk is fast, so it spurs the heart to work hard, when the queue at Raudhoh suddenly fainted and died on the spot," he said.

In addition to death, there is also a hajj from Garut who has a heart disease so he can't go home because he has to get medical treatment in Medina.

His current condition, he said, had begun to improve, just waiting for the schedule to return to Indonesia.

"Currently the handling has been completed, just waiting to return from there to Garut," he said.

The Garut Ministry of Religion noted that there are still 60 people who are still in Saudi Arabia awaiting their return schedule on August 10, 2022.
