MATARAM - PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok International Airport, West Nusa Tenggara Province held a socialization in the context of structuring and controlling street vendors (PKL) who trade at the Multipurpose Building (GSG) at the local airport office.

"This outreach is part of a more comprehensive strategy for structuring the airport's operational areas for the sake of creating cleanliness and tidiness at Lombok Airport," said General Manager of Lombok Airport, Rahmat Adil Indrawan in a written statement at Praya, Antara, Thursday, August 4.

The socialization activity, which was divided into two sessions, invited all street vendors who were registered as official kiosk owners in the airport area and the administrators of the two cooperatives that oversee the street vendors.

Also attending the meeting were the village heads around the airport and representatives of the Lombok Airport Sub-Sector Police (Polsubsector).

"On this occasion, we try to provide an approach, understanding, and make agreements with street vendors to carry out activities at the kiosks or outlets that we have provided," he said.

He said kiosks for street vendors at Lombok Airport had started operating since December 2021. The number of kiosks provided were 90 units, while the number of street vendors recorded at that time was 60 traders. "All street vendors who sell at this airport can be accommodated," he said.

The location of this kiosk is on the west side of the airport area, next to the parking area for two-wheeled and four-wheeled tours and minibuses. The flow of airport visitors from the parking area is also attempted through all existing street vendors stalls.

"This is our effort to accommodate the presence of street vendors who come from the community around the airport and encourage an increase in their business income. So we hope that these street vendors sell at the kiosks that we have provided so as not to disturb the comfort, security, and order in the airport area," he said.
