TANJUNGBALAI - The Fleet Quick Response (F1QR) Team of the Indonesian Navy at Tanjungbalai Asahan (TBA) Base, North Sumatra, secured KM Syaikir Jaya 2 which transported dozens of illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from Malaysia to Indonesia.

The Commander of Lanal TBA, Marine Lt. Col. (P) Aan Prana Tuah Sebayang said, the success of the Lanal TBA F1QR Team in dismantling the illegal PMI smuggling case was thanks to information from the Maritime Intelligence Operations Task Force Lantamal I, that there would be PMI smuggling coming from Malaysia to Indonesia, to be precise. to Tanjungbalai.

Receiving this information, the F1QR team of Lanal TBA immediately moved to the waters of Kuala Bagan Asahan to block ships suspected of carrying illegal PMIs.

On Monday (1/8) at around 13.00 WIB at position 03°05, 380' N 099° 55, 770' east longitude, the F1QR team of Lanal TBA found a fishing net ship, namely KM. Syaikir Jaya 2, GT.17 which had become the target being stuck at anchor.

When examined, it was found that 19 men and one woman were illegal PMIs, as well as four crew members (ABK). while the captain of the ship had the initials SR .

TBA Lanal Commander, Marine Lieutenant Colonel (P) Aan Prana Tuah Sebayang said his party first carried out an inspection of both data collection and luggage, the next step would be to coordinate with the Tanjungbalai Immigration Office.

"Currently 20 illegal PMIs have been brought to Mako Lanal to identify their names, documents and regional origins. They will then be handed over to the Imgirasi. The crew will also be examined for further processing," said Sebayang.

Danlanal continued, from the arrest, his party will continue to monitor the security situation of the territorial waters which are the duties and responsibilities of the TBA Navy.

"It is hoped that Indonesian Migrant Workers can enter and leave, comply with regulations legally or procedurally in order to obtain legal force," he said.
